When she wants to get outside, she poisons the doctor with deadly-nightshade and sneaks out. Sally loves the skeleton Jack Skellington but is unsuccesful in showing her interests to Jack. She manages to get him to notice her at the end of the movie, and this kiss on the moonlit hill ending the movie. The official film soundtrack contains an epilogue not in the film, stating that "many years later" Santa Claus returned to Halloween Town to visit Jack. He discovered that Jack had "four or five skeleton children at hand" who play together in a xylophone band. Given the ending of the movie, it can be assumed that these children are Jack and Sally's.
The Nightmare Before ChristmasEdit
In the movie, Sally is a ragdoll, who has barely any freedom, although she always runs away from Doctor Finklestein. After the Halloween celebration, the Doctor catches her and tried to drag her back to the lab, she pulls the thread on her arm and leaves it behind as she runs off. She follows Jack all the way to Spiral Hill, listening to his song. She then goes back to Dr. Finklestein to get her arm reattached. She hears about the town meeting after Jack shows back up into town and tricks the doctor again, poisons him, and goes to the town meeting where Jack tells about Christmas. She goes back home to the lab again and the Doctor puts Sally into a room where she always has to be when punished, Sally puts food and some potion in a basket and lowers it onto the ground, after this, she jumps after the basket. Sally gives the basket to Jack Skellington and runs away, because she is so shy. She wakes up the next morning and Sally knows something is wrong, and she actually has a vision. When she tells this to Jack, he acts like nothing is going to happen. The night Jack is going to give all the gifts to the children of the world, Sally puts fog juice to a fountain, so that the fog would prevent Jack from being able to leave Halloween Town. Yet, Sally's plan doesn't work, because of the bright nose of Jack's dog, Zero. Later, when Jack has left, Sally goes looking for Santa Claus and finds him from the "casino" of Oogie Boogie. Sally tries to save Santa, but fails and gets caught herself. Jack finds them and fights Oogie Boogie. Jack beats him and Santa leaves. Sally and Jack talk, and Jack is about to tell something to her, when the Mayor, Lock, Shock and Barrel interrupt. They all return to Halloween Town, and Sally walks sadly to Spiral Hill. Jacks follows her and they start to sing. After the short piece of singing they kiss and the movie ends happily.
Sally is a beautiful, rag-doll creature with detachable limbs stuffed with leaves. She has faded blue fabric for skin, with multiple sewing stitches all over her body. She is kind, sensible, and incredibly clever. She is also shown to be incredibly restless, and is intrigued by the outside world (much to the dismay of her creator, Dr. Finklestein).
It's this restlessness, or more specifically a desire for something more, that seems to draw her to Jack. In the beginning of the movie, she admires him much like everyone in Haloween Town. However, she quickly discovers that they are connected by their desire for something more in their lives and her feelings towards him intensify. The two refer to each other as "friends", though Jack seems unaware if not oblivious of Sally's true feelings towards him.
